I'm based in Ireland and we are still in the EU and our currency is the same as Spain in the Euro.

Each time I send money to my Bankinter account all in Euros the Spanish bank charge me huge fees for taking in the money. If I do it opposite way around send from Spain to Ireland my Irish bank charge me no fees for receiving it.

Is this normal by the Spanish banks? Seems to me to be a total rip off especially as we are all in Euros.

Hi

I also have a Bankinter account and transfer euros every month from the uk

I have found that they do have substantial fees for receiving money which makes

A considerable impact on the amount transferred, far more than fx company in

In London charge for doing the transaction

They also hit me hard when I transferred cash to purchase a property,

Bankinter are a good bank in other ways but I am seriously considering moving to such sabadell

Which I am told are very good ,

I hope they may be less expensive to deal with.

Kind regards

Richard

I have an account with Sabadell I pay 35 euros every 3 months and do not pay any other fees for transfers to and from UK any amount.  Worth looking at.

I also use XE for transferring as they seem to have good rates.

My son's partner is from Northern Spain and recently I mentioned Bankinter to her and she never heard of Bankinter!

Perhaps I picked the wrong Spanish bank.

Each time I send between 300-500 Euros they charge me 20 Euros for receiving

I transfer from UK to Bankinter via Currencies Direct. No fees and a better rate than the banks will give you.
