Hi,

This is the office that deals with taxes and fines.

If you've noticed money taken out of your bank today by them this is for the services provided by your ayuntamiento ( town hall) e.g. bin collection and street cleaning. Also the tax you pay yearly on your property.

Hope this helps you :)

Hi Cliff,

SUMA is the agency which collects taxes on behalf of the government in this area ("Gestion Tributaria" = Tax Management).  If you've noticed an amount of money go out of your account yesterday, it was probably your IBI ("Impuesto sobre Bienes Inmuebles” = similar to UK Council Tax).  The deadline for this payment is usually the first week of September, but it was delayed this year because of Covid-19.  Next year, it will probably be back to September again and if you set up a Direct Debit to pay it, it will be taken from your account in August.

Kind regards,

Kim
