Hi

I am reading that you can only access the airport terminal building if you are travelling.  Does this mean I can still enter the terminal building and only go to the car hire desks to pick up my next car hire booking.  All the bookings will be pre-booked online. I just need to visit the necessary car hire desk within the terminal.

I am visiting for 8 weeks and find that booking in 3 weeks blocks is the most cost effective way. Therefore, I would need to do 2 changeovers during my stay to the airport but due to COVID I am not sure that I can still do this?

Any clarification would be most helpful.

Can’t answer the question of returning to to the desk for you but if you’ve proof of rental I don’t see much problem. Might be worth contacting the rental firm direct. Prices are down as there’s very little business happening & I’m sure any of them will be glad to accommodate you & you could push for a good deal by contacting them direct. Centauro for one have a 30% discount & I just booked with them for September. Some firms like Drivalia will pick you up outside in a minibus and take you to their yard & office a mile away so returning or swapping is away from the terminals. Edi also will also meet you when you arrive with the car ready & the same on return so would no doubt work around a long rental. There are others too. They’ll all be glad of the business

I did exactly that recently (off-hiring and re-hiring) with no problem at all. Simply walk from the car park into the terminal building and go down to the hire desks to start again.
