Hi everybody, first time poster here. We are thinking of leaving the UK and moving to Spain and at the moment La Marina seems like a good option. We are looking at buying a business (catering) and a home but I have some concerns that im hoping you great people can help me with.

Ive been reading across the web that La Marina is a lot quieter than it used to be? This is a concern if we buy a business. I will be buying based on historical trading figures so I could do with knowing how things are now.

We have a 12 yo son and he is of course our main concern. I think hes to old to go to a Spanish speaking school so where is the closest English speaking school? Ive read that there is a private school in Alicante but it can take an hour to get there at peak times?

Away from schooling we of course want him to be happy. Are there other children (english speaking) nearby in the URB for him to socialize with?

any advice would be greatly appreciated,

thanks

Leyton

Hi you need to come and spend time looking at what is going on and where also bear in mind that most people have to work their socks of to make a living in spain research research research before you do anything and yes La Marina is quieter than it used to be and depending on what type of catering you are in lots of competition it is best to stay in the area for some time to get a feel for things.

Good luck with whatever you do.

Regarding the school in Alicante. Do you mean the British school? If so, they run a school bus service to and from La Marina. This can be found on their website.
