Hi, I used a guy called Ken whilst I was in La Marina, he was great and a reasonable price.

The "guy called Ken" is not a legally registered Spanish passenger carrying vehicle operator. The Guardia Civil Tráfico are carrying out checks on vehicles, especially at the airports, and are fining drivers AND PASSENGERS of illegal 'taxis' and are confiscating the vehicles. Passengers in such vehicles are, of course, not insured. It's just not worth the risks involved to save a few Euros.

I use a guy called José - 639611069. He turns up on time, drives sensibly, and doesn't overcharge. He is on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/taxi.lamarinasanfulgencio

He has published rates for some destinations - see photo below.

How would you know Ken is not legal? I'm sure there is more than one person with that name so aren't you making assumptions?

Martin, because of how extremely difficult, complicated and long-winded it is, even for Spanish people, to go through the process of obtaining the necessary authorisation to carry passengers for hire or reward, it is highly unlikely that he has got it. I believe too, that there is a restriction on the number of authorisations issued.

Bearing this in mind, please ask him whether he is fully legal. If he is, I will willingly retract my comments and  apologise.

Best regards,

Geoff.
