Hi All,

My wife and I are coming over at Easter and as we may be staying for a longer period this time I need to know where she can purchase blood pressure medication (LOSARTAN 100mg) she currently gets it on prescription here but need to know how to access them in Spain.

thank you all. Steve.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

As Ray says ask your GP for an increased supply. Before I became resident here in Spain I did this on a number of occasions stating that I was going on an extended overseas trip and it was no problem getting enough medication to cover my needs.

Rule of thumb. Gps will give a script for 3 mths.  No longer, the onus is on you then to make your arrangements after that point

If you ask then they will extend that, my GP did not have any problem prescribing more than that.

He shouldn't of though. I am a GP and we get monitored regularly and issuing scripts over 3 mths is not deemed not acceptable by the CCG.

We just ask our doctor for a repeat prescription for an extended period. No problems.

We never have a problem obtaining blood pressure or diabetic medication from our local pharmacies without prescription, but of course you have to pay for it. They do restrict the sale of antibiotics however
