I landed at Munich airport in Germany today and found this sign at passport control. I fly regularly around Europe and although it has been widely discussed in the press this is the first such sign I have seen. I wasn’t actually asked for any of the documents ( maybe because it is just a 1 night stay for business) . I was just asked the customary questions ( which town staying in, how long staying , business or tourist) before my passport was stamped but it could well be the way of things to come…..Will certainly lengthen passport control queues!

I suspect that they will profile the passengers from whom they require more than a simple check of their passport. For most it is likely to be business as usual.

What is being asked for on the sign is a requirement for all third country visitors so I wonder why they have only displayed a dedicated message for UK visitors?
Aitch.
The sign(s) might be new but the checks most certainly are not.

I expect it is to specifically draw British travellers attention to the recent change in our Shengen entry requirements. Not aware of any other third country with similar change.

Well it does seem odd to me to put a sign up 20 months after the event (assume your referring to Brexit?), especially at a time when several EU countries are easing visa requirements for those entering from third countries.
