Dog friendly bars and restaurants

...into these establishments. Our dog is elderly and  becomes anxious when left which means during winter months it has been difficult to enjoy an evening meal or drink out. We are currently travelling back from  a visit to  Wales and had a stop over in a Spanish town to find we were unable to take her anywhere for an evening meal ( it was too cold to eat outside). I'm not complaining and accept that living in another country means you accept their ways but just wondered if this is a common theme throughout Spain and if indeed this attitude is likely to be changing?

it's actually law in Spain that where food is being served dogs are not allowed in.

If there is an outside terrace some places will be happy to serve you.

I have two dogs and I have never had any problems being welcomed on restaurant terraces, even having water supplied for them, but I wouldn't dream of taking them inside, however well behaved they may be. Not everyone likes dogs and some will have allergies and much as we love the smell of our dog...

I don't really want to be sat eating my meal while a dog decides to have an intimate cleaning session!

I know dog owners love their pooches but I certainly don't want dogs near me when I'm having a nice meal.
