We purchased a villa near la Romana approx three years ago and love Spain .

Which is a lovely area.

We had an open mind about actually moving to Spain permanently and many people

Asking when we were going to make the move, infact in the first year we were carefully considering  our options .

This was despite the fact we voted for brexit , as we always were of the view that the Euro Union was growing every day into a uncontrollable superstate which may suit

Politicians and big business, but UK would be better off outside of it controlling its own destiny ,like Myself as a businessman have never been afraid of.

Anyway we put this before our possible desire to have easy access to living in Spain.

We could still move to Spain as we do hit the various criteria to seek a visa etc.

But since have began to appreciate where we live in the UK, what uk has to offer, admittedly also less favourable weather, but for us now 90 days in every 180 holidays will be

Just adequate to enjoy a warmer climate and we will look forward to coming to Spain

As well as in between enjoying British countryside, hotels and pubs in our German sports car.

Hello, if your post is an introduction then welcome to the forum :)

If there's a question it's too well hidden for me.

It's not an introduction to the forum which we have found both informative and fascinating

Since before we bought in Spain over three years ago

We are a couple in our dotage who appreciate what Spain has to offer and have driven to our villa at least twice a year either through France or from Spanish ports ,many times.

The scenery in northern Spain we have found is as spectacular as anywhere in Europe

But living in a hilly village with the Peak District on our doorstep the roaring log fires of an English pub, a good pint of Pedigree ale or two post lockdown , is something we cannot forsake

Should Anyone require advice on driving to Spain !

Take  care keep safe.
