Hi Carol,

For residency visa applications you need at least mid-range cover, without co-payments, paid in full for the first year.  There are many private health insurers, so you need to look at several for comparison.  For example, we have cover with ASSSA, aged 60 and 63 with no pre-existing conditions, at a total annual cost of €1,870.

Kind regards,

Kim

just remember anything you have had wrong with you now and in the past including broken bones, thyroid etc will be excluded from your cover

Total annual price for both of us, not each.

My PHI cover is with ASSA and was €1050 for a 63 year old with no pre existing conditions.

If you are a British passport holder I would wait until you get your appointment date at the Spanish consult before taking out the PHI cover as there appears to be a delay in getting appointments at the moment.

Good luck
