I meant people from the UK who own property in Spain. Surely they should be allowed to spend time in their property?

Yes but only if and when it is safe to do so, in the meantime the restrictions will continue to be gradually eased until the point when the borders are open to non citizens and non residents.

That depends on both the UK and the Spanish authorities.
At the moment, I see a potential opening of the borders for (some) Schengen countries somewhere in (hopefully early) summer, but as the UK does not seem to have the pandemic under control and is significantly worse off than Continental Europe, I fear that the UK might have to wait a bit longer, or stricter rules might apply.
In any case, keep an eye for official Governmental information, both from the UK as from Spain.

It is difficult but remember Spain has been in a very severe lock down to stop the spread of coronavirus and has had reduced the rate of infections significantly. The UK has not implemented the same restrictions and have not got the infections down to the level Spain has. So Logically people who reside in the UK where infection rates and deaths are not under control as yet have a greater risk of spreading the virus further within Spain.
Why would you risk your health and that of other people by making a non essential journey. This is not a punishment but to keep and as many people as possible alive and well and we must all do without what we personally want to achieve this.
Hopefully it will be safe enough to allow travel in the not too distant future.
Keep safe

Hi Elizabeth90
It is very trying, I know. However, as RayD and VivienneAnn, state, it must be done in a controlled manner. Spain appears to be gaining some control of the rate of infection, having imposed a prolonged period of “lockdown” which understandably, they will be very reluctant to sacrifice. Their phased approach offers the opportunity to monitor how well, or not, the move to some normality is progressing.
I’m impatient to be in Spain but would hate that, by relaxing the restrictions too soon, a further spike in infections results in further lockdowns. If that happens, we’ll go round in circles at her than travelling the road to Spain
Take care🤪🥂

Hi Elizabeth90. I understand where you're coming from .if you staying your own apartment rather than a hotel or complex its would be less risk .? We live in North Wales where there are a lot of holiday homes and we rely on tourism. However understandably locals are up in arms about the number of people who visit their second homes here and risking the spread of infection. I think that the previous comments have answered your questions, however l for one would not lije to antagonise our spanish neighbours by visiting too early much as we miss being there. Keep safe all
