Hi there

We moved over to La Zenia in October 2020, A completely crazy time, during a pandemic and before the brexit deadline, however we've got through the storm and have our residency.

We moved with our two children aged 8 and 14; our daughter is getting on well at school and has friends, our son as friends at school but never meets up with them and doesn't enjoy school at all due to his age and lack of knowing Spanish; we cant afford private so its sadly not an option, however I wanted to see if there was any other teens who are also struggling with the language barrier, or have recently moved over, or would like to meet up with another teen after school etc; he would equally like to meet teenagers from any nationality.

Our son is a nearly 15 now and is a gamer, although I think if he had the opportunity to meet friends he would much prefer that, the opportunity just hasn't come as yet.

Many thanks

Sian

Hi,

Which school does he go to? My daughter is at IES Playa Flamenca, but I know mums there with boys at the school of the same age.

If it is Playa Flamenca send me a private message with his name & class and I ask a couple of the mums.

We also have a Facebook Page with links the Primary School and the High School.

Hi there,

I know the post is old but I’m really trying to find other teens my 16 year old son could share some summer activities with. We live here all year around. If this topic is still of interest to you please message me.

Hi if you haven't already try duolingo app. It's easy and you can do as much as you want. It's free!

Hope your son settles soon. It's a difficult age and he's probably coping better than you think. Good luck.
