Hi Gordon,

I've tried to make a 'Cita Previa' on Torrevieja town hall's website for both certificate verification and padron, and received the following message, "All available appointments have been exhausted.  Sorry for the inconvenience."

Apologies if this sounds like a silly question, but what makes you think that Punta Prima comes under the municipality of Torrevieja?  I believe it comes under Orihuela Costa.  That said, I haven't been able to book an appointment at the Playa Flamenca town hall, but I was able to book one at the Orihuela City town hall for 11 November.  Another member who lives at Pinar de Campoverde also has a Padron appointment at Orihuela City, as her representative also was unable to make an appointment at Playa Flamenca town hall.

However, as I mentioned previously, Town Halls verify ACCV certificates; if you've obtained the FNMT certificate, you'll need to go to the Tax office instead.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim, thanks again for taking the time,

Yes I stay on the border of torrevieja and Orihuela and most definitely come under torrevieja, its the FNMT certificate I am looking to get so I thought it was the town hall in torrevieja so I got an appointment and went but was told not here but I got my padron with that appointment, so just need address to go to or email address to arrange an appointment to prove who I am for the digital certificate

Hi all,

If you need to obtain an electronic certificate/digital signature in order to commence the process of obtaining your residency/TIE application online, it is much easier to obtain an ACCV certificate, rather than an FNMT.  Email your Ayuntamiento (town hall) and ask them for an appointment for an ACCV certificate - you'll need a Padron certificate for your TIE application anyway, so it makes sense to ask your Ayuntamiento for an appointment to do this at the same time.  At the time of emailing, I'd also recommend asking them what documentation you need to take with you to the appointment.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hello,

To back up what Kimmy11 has said I decided, yesterday, to apply for a  ACCV digital certificate, this, for me, is not connected to a TIE but because it's a good idea to have one for access to many town hall related departments   This is the link I used for Torrevieja ayuntamiento .....

http://torrevieja.es/sal/index.aspx

I followed the guides to general registry & then  for digital certificates, I filled in a form then clicked on the appts & the 1st one offered was for 18 Nov.   I  was then offered 6 appt. times to choose from. I now await an email with confirmation of my appointment  & also what I need to take with me.

Hope this helps anyone who is thinking of applying.

Cheers

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Hello,

You need to register on the padron at Playa Flamenca Town Hall first, here is a link that should help you to make an appointment.  There are very many people trying to do this at the moment & appts are not easy to get so be prepared for a  wait as the last thing I read on here was... the appts . offered were up to Jan.2021......keep trying, you might be lucky.

https://orihuela.governalia.es/en/

Residencia is a different thing altogether & only dealt with at the Police Office for Foreigners in Alicante. You need to provide many documents along with the padron when you apply. If you get help from a local Gestor in your area, they will talk you through the process & advise what needs to be done  for you to make an application. Getting a padron certificate is the first thing to accomplish.

Cheers

I’ve applied on line for the Spanish Digital Certificate but now have to verify my identity by attending an approved office with my passport etc. Is there an address in La Zenia/ Cabo Roig where I can do this?

We have a company helping us with residency and they asked us to get a digital certificate, we couldn’t get one at Playa Flamenca until well  into November, The company helping us got us an appointment at Rojales Town Hall within 4 days. We went today along with NIE and passport and email address, in and out within 10 mins, no queues . We took it to the company helping us and we are now on the system for residency.

Thanks AD, that's really helpful to know.  Playa Flamenca town hall has been very difficult, with several members living in Orihuela Costa having to go to Orihuela City to get their electronic certificates.  Rojales has a very large British community, so it's good to hear that they're being helpful to other Brits living outside of their municipality.

Kind regards,

Kim

I'm a bit confused by all this Cl@ve and digital certificate stuff. Which is better, as in most useful, most widely accepted - Cl@ve or digital certificate? Or is it a mix'n'match thing and it's useful to have both depending on which PITA tramite you're attempting and which agency you have to do it with?

There's Cl@ve PIN and Cl@ve permanente. Which is better and why?

There's FNMT and ACCV digital certificates. Which is better and why? I gather the ACCV ones are easier to get hold of? Do you have to apply somewhere online first and then get verified in person at the Ayuntamiento or is the application and verification all in person in a single appointment (assuming you can even get one)? I ventured down the rabbit hole of a gazillion links on the Cl@ve and FNMT websites and a million links and days later came out none the wiser.

What exactly is a digital certificate? Does it only work on a computer or on a phone too? Does it only work with certain operating systems and browsers? Can more than one person have a certificate on the same computer? Can you get them for infants/dependents or are they strictly for independent adults?
