"but I will always support the U.K. for giving me everything I have got"

I am a Brit who lives in Spain but I wouldn't say the UK "gave" me anything. Everything I have got I have earned through hard work.

Tebo, I admit that I do not know your personal work related circumstances, however it is true that the UK has one of the lowest unemployent rates in Europe. This at the very least gives a UK citizen the ability to WORK hard to improve their life. Some european countries (not only EU)  have unemployment for their citizens on an industrial scale thereby preventing them from achieving their life dreams through hard work. This may be what the poster is alluding to.

You will be amazed to find that the reduction in British tourists has been taken up by other nationalities that arrive with more funds. Massive increase in French, Belgians, Germans. All with a greater disposable income.

swcoulthurst, having more disposible income and spending it are two entirely different things. It has been opinionated that most europeans spend about a tenth of what UK residents do while in the EU. This maybe linked with the amount of alcohol purchased.

Don't worry to much about Yupha's rantings, he picks out a subject and picks the bones out of it and won't let go 🤨 he's had a pop at several posters.

Disposible income is exactly what it says. A greater amount of money available to spend on luxury items. Whether you choose to spend it or not is your choice.

What is opinionated (not sure thats the correct word, but that's what you used)  and what is fact can be two completely different things. My neighbours house has just gone on the market at 369,000€. Amazing how many differing nationalities have been to view the property. Not one British. However a property has also gone for sale near my friends at 120,000€. All British viewings not one European viewing. Obviously it depends where you are living, but the properties selling at 1.3 million euros near me are not selling to Brits.

You are however correct that the Spanish don't spend lots of money in their own town, but this is not what I see of holidaymakers also Germans, Swedes, Norwegians, French, Belgians etc do. Yes you are also correct the Brits spend money on getting pissed. What a great advertisement, really makes you proud to be British.
