We have been out for 4/5 day breaks since the 90 day malarky kicked in.  Twice now, we have flown back through Alicante & not had our passport stamped out, {had it stamped in a week earlier}  due to our departure gate being the wrong side of passport control. we have been since &...

...; been stamped in & out, so where are the days logged / checked.

The Spanish tourism needs us holiday home owners to prop up the tourism economy {as we have done for many years} so who & when will they wake up ?

At the moment the Spanish Tourist Office are more concerned about Russians not being able to holiday and the effect that will have on the economy..

That’s news to me, I didn’t realise that Russians are no longer allowed to holiday in Spain.  But Irrespective, it would appear that Russians can now go to a certain country which is part of continental Europe and stay as long as they want, no passport control and no visa required. Just one at present !

Not sure about classed as resident, haven’t heard that.
I take it you are campaigning for all 3rd country nationals to be given the same rights, or is it just the British who left the club, but still want the benefits.

If in fact my country, and I’m proud to be English, was giving the EU £55,000,000 per day they are better off out of it.What I don’t understand is when some Brits move to  another country they seem to forget where they were born and who they owe everything to.I love living in Spain even though it’s getting more expensive every month, but I will always support the U.K. for giving me everything I have got.

I am a Brit who lives in Spain but I wouldn't say the UK "gave" me anything. Everything I have got I have earned through hard work.

Minimum income within the tourism industry.......

Yes tebo53,the tourism in Spain is at an all time low.My friend that has an apartment in Benidorm has never seen it so empty,he’s now seriously thinking of selling up while he might still get a reasonable price, telling me that in a few years Benidorm could become a dust bowl.Extra taxes imposed for every night you spend in a hotel is driving people away,if the Spainish government want to get themselves out of dept they have to make Spain welcoming again.

At one point the Spanish were arriving at Alicante Airport with suitcases full of money,in fact President Putin has had a villa in Quesada for years where his daughter stays.

My father paid heavy taxes to get me educated and national insurance for hospital care when I was born.......

The salary I earned was from many hours and low wages making my employer and shareholders rich, I certainly wasn't "given" anything,  I was just an employee number to them. I am English and don't particularly want to be Spanish but get your head straight about the UK......they don't and never have "given " anything away for free, everything in my life since my birth has had to be paid for......

Yupha....Benidorm is getting back on track extremely quickly and highly unlikely to be the "Dust bowl" you mention. Paddy's day, Cheltenham week and Elvis weekend were very successful and had massive turnout, the city  was heaving. Easter weekend has drawn in tourists from all parts of Spain and the EU.

Your friend is mistaken.

There is no tourist taxes imposed each night in Benidorm and highly unlikely to ever be imposed.

Well Steve if you think that what you paid into the U.K. tax and Ni contribution has or will cover your weekly pension then work it out.If you think that your contributions paid for our armed forces, the police,NHS,schools and education, you and yours must have kept us all going.I came from a country that is so poor I was only educated up until I was 9 because my parents couldn’t afford to keep me in school so we moved to the U.K. and by being educated and being able to get a good salary allowed me to move here,so never forget where you came from and by giving you a good life where you are today.
