You get entry and exit stamps, in a British passport, with a non lucrative visa. In fact, everyone ive seen going through passport control, with a British passport, gets their passport stamped.

You only get 30 days to exchange your NLV for a TIE.
Once you have your TIE you will not get your passport stamped, unless you want it stamped or forget your card.

I also read that with a TIE you can go through the EU passport gates although I can't remember where, possibly on another forum.

Well, I've been out of the country twice since obtaining my TIE and NOT having my passport stamped both on exit and entry, was not an option.
