Help please, l am due to return to UK the 1st March but have just realised my passport runs out 13thMay, according to gov.uk site you must have minimum 3 months on passport from returning date, will l be allowed to travel back to UK? If not what do I do? TIA

You should check with the airline you are flying with as ultimately they will decide if you can travel or not. Airlines can be fined if they break the rules. The following statement from the website below is very clear:

'The passport expiry date is at least three months after intended day of departure from EU.'

If you are a UK citizen travelling to UK your passport expiry date is irrelevant.

The link given relates to travelling out of UK not returning!

Thank you, that's what I was hoping would be the position, then l can renew passport when l get home.

I think you have misinterpreted the following statement:'The passport expiry date is at least three months after intended day of departure from EU'It will be both the the airline and the Spanish authorities who will decide if a passenger can travel.The link was provided as a reference point to where the above statement was taken from.

It’s only taking a couple of weeks to get a replacement passport sent out to Spain. I did my mums last month.  Just fill in the form online , upload a suitable selfie, pay the fee by card on the gov website and hey presto ….
