Hi Matt,

Go in to their shop in La Zenia  by Consum (when you are able to return) with a bill and ID (Passport and NIE)

There maybe a way to discuss online that i am unsure of, but others on the Forum maybe more informed on that

They speak very good English and if they can help they will do the change over for you

The link for the website is https://siestaenergy.es/

I hope that helps

Hi Swarty, anyone can easily go 'off grid',simply by cancelling the contract with their Electricity provider and requesting the Isolation of the Property electrical supply cables from the Electricity Meter.

In relation to then managing to provide Solar Power, ample enough for your needs all year round and all seasons is something that would require quite some investigation. Have you done much research on the subject ?

Hi Leckyles we have gone into it in some detail 5 kw system with storage batteries and a 5 Kw generator for emergencies and rainy weather would be all you need to run a house and possibly keep the chill of the pool.

Hi there,

Having a 5kW supply I would say is perfect. Bear in mind that some other countries and households have a 3kW limit to run everything in a house as long as you don’t turn on washing machine, oven, hairdryers and electric kettles all together!

It will be quite expensive but you will definitely benefit in the long run. Don’t forget that you don’t need direct hot sun that you need for the hot water systems. The photovoltaic panels need the radiation from sunlight.

Good luck,

Janice

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

The early batteries were a problem now advanced technology allows the batteries to be warrantied for 5 years More be kind to the environment than cost is our thinking

Swarty, you could try the Forum index under 'Solar Panel Equipment and Installers' . There are a few companies there that undertake such work. Maybe you could ring for advice .
