Hi all

I arranged 2, 5 & 8 day PCR tests through Boots Chemist for my partner who recently went to UK. He only he'd only had 1 vaccine dose.

Day 2 & 8 were by post, arrived promptly, day 8 in-store.

Wouldn't recommend as results took too long, photo shows cropped screenshot with dates taken & results received.

Thank you for taking the time to post, it will helps others.

I recommend Randox who basically charge £48 per test, irrespective of day 2,5 or 8.

If you are flying with Ryanair there is also a discount available by using FLYRYANAIR as the discount code.

The delivery service was prompt and the results the next day.

NOTE - all providers say they have up until 23.55 to deliver your results... cynically, I think it is a way of keeping you in all day!!

Hope it helps

The whole testing process to me is flawed and unregulated.

When I was researching for the tests needed, the government website reads like a Thomas Cook Window from the 80s with a list of the companies doing the testing and 'Prices From' !!  Good luck trying to get the tests for the price displayed!

I then found the cheapest business (price from £49) which was actually £99 and I nearly purchased it. The website had a company registration on their site, so I checked it out with companies house. The firm was set up in April 2021 by a 1 man band French National, further searches showed he was not and has never been a medical professional!!

Other links of the gov.uk website lead you to websites which no longer exist or the type anyone can throw together, which leaves you very little confidence in the whole scheme.

So basically, when you also throw in the complete disregard by the authorities once you have purchased the tests, its down to the lowest cost just to tick a box.

Too true, far too may unscrupulous people making money.

I recently read about 100,00 fake Covid test results in both India and Sweden currently under police investigation. Some people just want to make money, no matter what potential harm they cause. Giving out a false “pass” to an infected person could clearly lead to Covid being passed on, particularly to friends and family. Predictably, somewhere along the line this would lead to hospitalizations and even death. They should charge the guilty parties with GBH and Manslaughter.
