Me and my husband want to relocate to Spain. Is Los Altos a good residential area or a holiday hotspot? We would like it to be lively but not too lively. We would also like a place that doesn't close for the winter. Any information would be very welcome. Thank you Vickie xx

Hello

We have just brought in Los Altos but not moved out permanently as yet but it's quieter than other places but has plenty of bars and restaurants around plus walking distance to beaches if you like walking

Thanks for your reply. Is there a large supermarket within walking distance? As for the first couple of months we won't have a car.

That would be so helpful. We hope to make the move in the next six months or so. We are looking forward to it I think. Hope everything goes well for you. Did you find the process of buying your property easy? Or was there a lot of red tape? How long from start to finish? Thanks x

Hi

It's a bit different to here for sure you must have a solicitor who will deal with everything for you as you have to go to Notery to sign contract etc don't forget to add 10% on top of purchase price, plus there bills you have to also get an NIE number before you can buy we had to go to London to get ours cannot be done on line.

We was lucky really as who we brought off accepted a 10% deposit to hold the property for 6 months but it has to be written by the solicitor and all signed.

Time as cash buyer can take from 6 weeks to be honest but due to our circumstances we had to hold off.

I do hope it goes well for you never know we could land up neighbours !!!

Thanks for being so helpful. I didn't know about the 10%. How dozy am I 😱. I would like to stay in touch with you if that's okay?
