Thanks & how long is this adaptation & ongoing "new" circumstances going to last in your opinion?

Considering the state the UK finds itself in, it’s a bit rich to criticise the perceived failings of the EU. The MEP’s who were elected by the EU voters appoint officials the same way as any government does. The UK has many unelected officials appointed by the democratically elected idiots the voters chose to support.

Its a pity that some people really do not understand how the EU works.

Yes the MEPs are elected, however, the EU parliament is a toothless tiger. The power and decision-making lies in the EU commission, which is not elected.

Can you recall a vote for the president? who herself is a failed German defence minister. Or perhaps the head of the anticorruption directory, whom oddly enough had just served 7 years in jail for fraud and corruption.  I could go on as there are many such absurdities.

How do i know you may well ask.  I worked there and saw the greed and corruption first hand, and the sheer lack of any meaningful influence the MEPs have. The EU is controlled and run by unelected bureaucrats in the commission. .

I recall the then president of the EU scolding David Camaron  "he should stop listing to the people of the country and just push through the EU agena,  the people should just  be made to accept it" It was not a comfortable discussion for DC. All the richer seeing that the president himself was not in jail for corruption, solely because he was  made president and gained immunity before a trial.

Today we now have the  EU commission threats to Italy over their democratic elections.

If you have the time, trying spotting the differences between the organization and processes of the EU and the way China is governed.

Answers on a postage stamp.

Which bit of the 'state' the UK is currently in do you think was caused by Brexit?  The price of gas?  Inflation? Rising interest rates? Shortage of staff?  All of these things are happening in many other countries. European shares dropped in value by 22% last year (The Telegraph, yesterday). Was that due to Brexit?

That’s not really the point is it? More a question of who is worse off. Since the original point was leaving a corrupt and spendthrift EU. Sort of ironic.

If you actually do some research you will find the regulations have been around for a long time. No point moaning , it's just the way it is. Best to keep up to date with the countries you visit.

Hi Folks  -  I have owned a villa in Moraira for over 35 years ,and visited from Bournemouth, where I am a resident , several times a year as and when it suited me or when flight fares were particularly cheap.    So I was a regular visitor spending cash in restaurants, shops a...

...nd with builders etc to support the local Spanish  community.

Up until now I have always been welcomed and it was a practice benefitting both parties

NOW, I wish to continue this , BUT I am restricted to 90 days or whatever by the complicated and time wasting "SCHENEGEN"  arrangement !!

I can't see the purpose behind this stupid arrangement since apart from controlling my movements,  it reduces the contribution I can make to the Moraira market place? Can some enlightened person explain to me what purpose is achieved  by " Schengen "  ?? Or is it simply spite as I supported the UK decision to leave the likely bankrupt European Union  ??

Hi

Ive have a holiday home in Spain for 18 years, I have always known we could only stay 90 days, I think it's just been put in place because we are no longer in the EU. and like yourself I voted out, I stayed 85 days last August and I found it to long, was glad to be home, but have since stayed 21 days this years and will be going soon for 28 days.
