I also think there are circumstances where a pm is appropriate but I really appreciate how difficult this must be for Jim who, always the a gentleman, helps everybody out.

Thank you Cheryl. I obviously don't mind messages from friends who just want to chat.
I also don't normally mind messages from people who want to give me private information like income details, provided that they've first asked me if I have time to look at, e.g. their tax liability.
I do, as I said, object to people trying to take advantage of my good nature by asking questions they could ask on the open forum.

Jim, may I say that perhaps it is because you show patience when replying to those who request information while some others exhibit a propensity for a lack of understanding when people ask the same questions time after time. It may be that you have become a victim of your extremely helpful nature. I accept that sometimes (very rarely) you show exasperation, but on the whole (vis a vis your immense output) you display a caring and helpful persona. I have never asked a question but truly appreciate the immense amount of help you provide on this forum.
