Collected wedding invitation from Orba Correos and was asked to pay 13,55 euros in tax. Its ludicrous, I was so upset, its just a card in envelope wedding invitation, its not produce or resale. Its crazy this needs to be stopped, I have complained to Correos something needs to be done. Brexit has caused more trouble than it was worth and cost us expats more money and trouble and stress and for what!!!!!

Not sure why your blaming Brexit, seems to me it's Correos that is ripping you off.

Presumably, the amount refers to processing fees usually affecting everything except documents..
Of course it's Brexit, complain all you like but it will change nothing.
The only answer is to tell people in UK not to send you anything which is not a simple letter.
The only answer as others have said is tell friends and family not to send anything in the post.I have received a couple of letters and cards from the UK but I asked the sender to go to Post Office in UK and get them to fill out customs declaration.This approach seems to work ok.Sad to say,and not wishing to offend anyone but this particular difficulty is a consequence of brexit.

As far as I’m aware it’s the same for all 3rd countries.

Really thats crazy of course before brexit we did not pay import duty on letters or clothing or other items, so its really odd that since brexit it is happening now, and I am told by the lovely lady at correos Its because UK is no longer in the EU !!!!!! Work that one out.

No I have recieved parcels and letters from my children in Australia and not paid and duty, they put gift on the parcel. Have not paid for letters or cards from Australia. Its really odd, the UK left EU so now a third country Spain charges import duty because UK is third country, so yes Brexit is to blame.
