Hi baggiebird

Noticed you have travelled from our neck of the woods torrie/Rojales, we are due to travel on the 27th March from Santander to Portsmouth, can I ask did you get your antigen test before you set off locally as we can get it here or in Santander?

And what is the procedure if you test positive? With an imminent ferry booked

Hi

We had out test locally at a chemist, had to book a week in advance and paid 50 euros for each antigen test. We got the results within a couple of hours and we took the test on monday as we were driving on tue and ferry was wednesday. If the test is positive  you would have to rearrange the ferry

Hi thanks for that, great you warned me about booking it a week in advance, how did the results come through, did you have to print off the certificate, and did you get the results in English? Did you ask for the “lamp” antigen test or just a rapid antigen test ? Sorry for all the questions, just want to be sure.

Hi

They email you the results but I  asked if I  could  collect the print off from the chemist as its easier,  I thought we may have to show it a few times. I  just asked for the antigen test and it was printed in english.Just to be sure you are covered by the gov.uk rules make sure they have your full name as it has to match your travel documents  and also your age or date of birth. Also check the gov.uk rules before as they may change the rules..also expect a bit of a wait at border control

Folks if you are double vaccinated and can prove it, then from 4th October you do not need a covid test to enter the UK

Ok thank you. I thought that I'd heard that but everything changes so often and didn't want to get caught out. I've just looked on the eurotunnel website snd it does say that now but I do see that you still need a 2 day test at home. At least that's one less thing to worry about any way. Just hope we don't get a petrol/diesel shortage here or I'll not be going anywhere! Thanks for your help
