....and you don’t use any Finance through Banks or Building Societies, how sure are you the Villa is in a good working order and so the pool if any?... I am presuming if you use any Finance, your property would be checked by a Surveyor but who could check the Villa if you don’t use any Finance?...

To supplement what Kim has said, be careful with the type of surveyor you use. Most Spanish surveyors will just provide you with a description of the property. What you need is someone who will do a full structural survey. Sorry in advance; I know there are such people around, but don't have details of any of them.
