Advice on returning goods to the UK

Do you not have a local man with a van who do regular trips back and forth.

Or contact the people who moved your furniture across to Spain. They’ll have the latest information and as you know charge you per cubic metre.

   I would look at the cost of replacements in the UK, as a comparison against the cost of shipping. You would probably be able to sell the items in Spain and get something back as well. Not ideal but maybe a cheaper option?

 If you do ship make sure you take damage/loss insurance.

I would do as Aitch says. 
The man and van trade between the UK and EU has all but disappeared due to all the paperwork and fees involved. Maybe get a quote for a part load with an International removal company but probably not cost effective.

Try Steve at Swift Removals 603 33 64 63.  Your load may be too small for him but he is a really helpful man and he will help you if he can. He can also help with documents. Otherwise as someone else has suggested. Sell in Spain for what you can get and replace with new in UK avoiding transit risk, insurance etc.

I would normally agree, but it's a £3500 TV. £500 speakers. Specialist equipment. Unfortunately most people in Spain dont want to pay for the quality.

Yes. Unfortunately Brexit put paid to moving stuff about. Paid to have it shipped here and twice as  much to get it back. 

Wow, that's an expensive TV!  Yes, your son would take a big hit on the secondhand price in Spain. Definitely insure if you do ship.

Yep it definitely is/was. That's the problem. 

If your son was a legal resident in Spain then transferred his residency to the UK, he should be able to get a TOR no from Uk customs(see UK customs website) which would enable him to get the goods back without iva as he has transferred his primary residence. This can be applied for by the courier company.
