Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend an English speaking advisor who can discuss all the different visa/residency options for staying longer than the 90 days now allowed after Brexit. I am finding the amount of information online a little overwhelming and it's difficult to work out what would be most suitable for my personal circumstances. Would be great to make an appointment with a professional advisor and have a chat in person.

Many thanks,

Hannah

Hi Hannah.

I was recommended Josefa Izquierdo Santacrue for my TIE application and have no complaints. My application was presented in time despite the very short time I had to get it in. Her receptionist Clare is English, so no language problem. Josefa also speaks English

Hi Hannah,

If you're currently living in Spain and can prove that you were doing so before 1 January this year, you may be able to apply for Spanish residency/TIE card with protection under the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement.  However, if you were not living in Spain before that date and want to move here permanently, you need to apply for a visa at the Spanish Embassy in the UK - this could be a work visa, student visa or, for pensioners and early retirees, the non-lucrative visa.  If you could give a little more information about your specific circumstances, then you should receive the correct guidance.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thank you Kim,

I have been living here in Spain since November, but whether I can prove that might be tricky as I have been living in my cousin's apartment that is in her name. My usual self employment work is at a standstill because of Covid, but it doesn't require me to be based anywhere in particular because it involves travelling through Europe and the UK. I have enough savings and funds to support me for the rest of the year and I would consider studying here (I have an OU psychology degree on hold at the moment that begins again in October) depending on what the requirements are; how many hours, if I need to be in just one place etc. I am thinking about staying here on a more permanent basis, but would like to travel around and get to know different places if it's possible. So an unusual situation and why it's tricky to work out what I can do!

Kind regards,

Hannah

I would second that. We bought a house in Oliva and closed last year August, 2020 and used Josepha. She did all the paperwork on time, closed the deal, got us our NIE numbers, bank account, set up direct debits for electricity and water. Very helpful both Josepha and Clare and I would recommend her without any hesitation. My wife dealt with both of them. Only problem is that we have yet to get there because of lockdown!!!!

Thank you! I have gotten in touch and have already heard back from Clare and got an appointment next week :)

Amazing. Fingers crossed, things work out so I can stay!

Hope it isn't too long till you can get back over.

Kind regards,

Hannah

You will be in good hands. Hope everything works out for you. Fortunately we dont have the same problems as we are both Irish nationals.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear that you can't get back.

A friend here in Oliva went back to Brighton just before Xmas to settle his affairs with the intention of returning here mid Jan, but got caught by the travel ban and various flight cancellations. He and his wife now look to have flights to Madrid for the end of February, but they've missed their TIE appointment in Valencia, and might yet get refused entry on arrival. So much uncertainty in life now
