Hi I wonder if anyone can help. I have for the past 4 years paid my non resident tax through Angar Tax Services in Torrevieja. They have been great and very reasonably priced. This year they have said they will pay my tax for me but in future years I will have to arrange to pay the tax myself although they will continue to prepare my tax models for me.

Has anybody any advice on the best way to pay the tax ? apparently you have to pay in person at your spanish bank which is not easy if you are non resident. Is it possible to pay through revolut or wise ? but I dont know the Iban codes etc.

any guidance would be appreciated.

In your tax return tick the box for "direct debit" and that's it.

Could it  just be a currency issue?

Have you tried paying Angar with Euro?

Did they explain why they will continue to help you with tax forms and then not pay?

I don't understand why there might be a problem.

Yes, I always pay ours from UK . Use the Agencia Tributaria online Form 210 , submit it via your laptop or phone . It then gives you a Reference code . You can choose to allow AT to collect it by DD , or , as I do , you can pay it from your UK bank quoting the AT Reference code .

Apologies for butting in on this posting

We have just recently purchased a property in Playa Flamenca..just trying to sort out payment of non resident tax . Can anyone advise as part of documentation we require is

A copy of bill for annual Local Rates tax (IBI tax)

Can anyone help us identify what this looks like or where we get this as dont seem to have this in any of our paperwork. Is this something we automatically receive in due course or something we have to chase up on?..

Thanks in advance

Shariff

Hi

I believe if you have purchased your property in Spain in 2022,  then IBI will be due in 2023.

Just email Andy at the following

https://www.nonresidenttaxes.com/

Advice will be given free.

They charge €20 fee to prepare tax for each person on deeds.

Very worthwhile,  all done online in english.

 Many recommend on this forum.

Best wishes for your new home

Regards

Maria

Hi Shariff999,

This thread is about Non-resident tax, the Modelo 210.  It's calculated on the cadastral (land registry) value of your property and has to be paid by  31 December each year.  Before I became resident, I used to use:

http://spanishtaxforms.co.uk/

They charge £34.95 per property, plus an additional charge of £12 to make the payment on your behalf (although, if you happen to be in Spain towards the end of the year, you can take make the payment at your bank).

The tax you refer to is different - "IBI" is the equivalent of UK Council Tax.  It's levied by your Town Hall and  collected, in this region, by the SUMA agency.  The lawyer acting for you on your purchase should have transferred the bills to your name (as well as electricity and water supplies).  If they didn't do it and you're currently in Spain, pop along to your nearest SUMA office and set up a direct debit mandate to pay it each year.

Kind regards,

Kim

You, ve stated "tick box for direct debit and that's it" but how can they take it by direct debit in future if it hasn,t been calculated first? Are you saying AT calculate it themselves and then take it by direct debit or are you saying this is when a person does their own online calculation? I too have been paying Angar Taxation to do this for me and pay it but now they are no longer paying it, not easy to go to bank to pay if in Uk and Spanish tax forms charge £12 per person extra, not per property as often stated by people to pay on clients behalf (so 2 joint owners that's £24 extra). I have been informed by Spanish tax forms they send a colleague to pay at a bank as paying online does not update the AT, s records, just accepts payment and only scanning the form at a bank produces the update. Seems very archaic in this day of technology where 90% of transactions are done online.

Pauline
