Hi just wondering if anyone has used an alternative money transfer service from the normal ones ie currencies direct who I have an account with, as will be hopefully coming over and purchasing in november time but with pound bombing at the moment ,had a look at wise transfer rate today at 1.15 even with fee of 379 odd against currencies direct at little over 1.11  transferring 100k lets say you gonna save over 3500 .Any ideas much appreciated.

Check with Place in Sun Money

they are very good and rate doesn’t change with volume you exchange which helps when you continue to move money in stages.

Also with all these companies you can ‘buy forward’ so make a contract to fix a given rate for some time to come, if you’re not quite ready to move the money.

buying forward rates are not as keen as spot rates as the company concerned is gambling on where the currency will end up

I've used Currency Fair for many years.

Minimal fees, ability to set the exchange rate that you want, etc. I'm sure that there are few differences between the main players.

Take a look, if you decide to proceed with them let me know and we can both benefit.

You gave the answer in your original post. You won't do better than Wise.

Yeah but never used them before and when you google sending large amounts of currency its the likes of c.d that come up because wise are a e-money company so wanting other peoples experiences if they actually used them for large amounts.

Yes, I used them four years ago to buy my house. I sent a large amount of money via Wise to my Spanish account, it went fine. If and when you do it, make sure your UK bank is aware of what is going on, otherwise they will raise security hurdles.

Hi

I've bought both a house and a car using Wise - no problem.

Cheers and thanks for the info, seems a no brainer rather pay four or five hunded quid fee and get a better rate than have it all bundled up with currencies direct and lose thousands.
