Hi, looking to purchase UK Standard 60w Bayonet light bulbs here in Spain together with 10mm entry Table Lamp Bulb Holders.

Has anybody purchased these here, I am aware Amazon and eBay Uk list them but do not deliver Bulbs to Spain.

Has anybody purchased these items here and where.Or holding stock they wish to sell.

Hi Philip,

I have 4 x 60watt bayonet light bulbs that I bought for lights that I no longer use.

I got them in Asda’s the last time I was in the U.K. and they have never been out of their boxes!  Let me know if you would like them.

The only hitch would be that I live in Villena which may be too far for you to come and I certainly wouldn’t trust the Post Office!

Janice

Halogen and traditional hot filament bulbs that need changing frequently are far more expensive in the long run than LED bulbs at current prices. They use less than one fifth of the electricity and hardly ever need changing.

One cannot deny that LEDs are cheaper to run than filament bulbs, but I happen to prefer the quality of the light from a filament lamp.

The number of bulbs I have got won't make a scrap of difference to me.  I look at it as yet another road we are being forced down removing the choices that some of us like to make.  I prefer not to see myself as a sheep.  Free speech, free choices, free to make our own mind up,  all the choices are being eroded.  Don't forget 1984.  Covid has really proved this. We are like mushrooms, kept in the dark and you-know-what thrown at us.

Well I'm reading 1984 at the moment, and next will be Alice in Wonderland (where nothing makes any sense) which is where I feel I have arrived after returning to the UK from Spain recently.

I think an 80% reduction in the world's energy demand for lighting is something worth pursuing though and the current 'Warm White' LED bulbs are a pretty close match for the old tungsten glow.

I agree that nothing much in the world seems to make an iota of sense any more.  There is a direct comparison between Alice in Wonderland and the British Government.  Nothing they come up with has had the slightest bit of common sense applied to it. They just bumble along from one crisis to the next, meantime trying to put the fear of God into the Great British Public getting them to tow one ridiculous line after the other.

If you look at it sensibly changing light bulbs is pretty insignificant in the overall scheme of things. There are far greater users of power than light bulbs. Lighting probably takes up less than 10% of the total.

The National Grid said last week that there would soon be countrywide power cuts because so many people are changing to electric cars and electric house heating and there is just not enough capacity.

You simply can't rely on the wind blowing and the sun shining, especially at night when the cars are plugged in and everyone is at home trying to keep warm.  Just another hairbrained scheme that can't work.

Unlike the original poster, I brought out 2 smart bulbs last year when we moved but didn’t think to bring a lamp now I can’t find one with a bayonet fitting for my bulbs.

Has the OP found what he wanted? Can’t see a reply from him on the offers from people (like me) who have these bulbs at home.
