please can someone clarify the latest situation on driving licence exchange,  UK to Spanish.

due to move to Spain permanently late summer

There has been no agreement for an exchange of licences yet and this has already been going on for well over a year so the advice has got to be to contact a driving school now to get arrangements in place ready for when you move as I imagine they are booked solid at the moment. You will have 6 months to get a Spanish licence.
The theory can be taken in English and the driving instructor will help you prepare for the practical test in Spanish and will also help you arrange the medical.
It might be a good idea to start practicing some Spanish directions now!

For anything to do with driving in Spain have a look at the N332 website.   It is run in conjunction with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people.
