Hi

I've run into a problem, I bought a new car at the end of May this year. I'm visiting Barcelona later this month and have been informed I need a current Eco Sticker to be able to drive there.

I went to the Correos to buy one but was informed that my logbook expired on 28th August. I assumed the logbook was always current. [my fault for not checking the paperwork properly]  I really don't know what to do next.

Any help or advice appreciated.

Just checked again the logbook is provisional  [Autorizacion Provisional De Circulacion]

Thanks

John

As I see it, there must be a misunderstanding. A new vehicle is due for insprection (ITV) 4 years after purchase, thren every 2 years. Typing error?

Is the car brand new or used?
Go back to the dealership you bought the car from it may have been sent to them, mine have always been collected from the dealership a few weeks after getting the car.
All my cars have been bought new and the ECO sticker was always supplied with the paperwork when I picked the car up.

Yes, the car is brand new, I bought it from Toyota agents, Medimotors Torrevieja. I've been to see them and was told to go to Correos and they will issue it.

On the back of your reply, I will visit them tomorrow. It's possible they gave me the wrong information.

Thanks

The N332 website may have information to help you as it covers anything to do with driving in Spain for English speaking people.   It is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code on it.

Not a very helpful reply from the dealership and poor customer service, you should have been informed of the process from the outset.

Hope you get it sorted easily or better still the dealerships sorts it out for you.

Thank you Paolo.

I went back to the dealer and as you stated they gave me the necessary documents.

They also apologized as the previous advice given by an inexperienced member of staff was not correct,

Thanks again

John
