Hi

I am a UK citizen, age 70, recently arrived in Spain and intending to apply for Spanish Residency. I have lived outside the EU for the last 10 years and in receipt of a UK state pension. Will I be able to obtain an S1 FORM from DWP for health cover in order to apply for residency? Grateful for any advice.

• If you are a state pensioner and require an S1 form, please contact the International Pension Centre on +44 191 218 7777; S1s can also be issued to family members who are dependants of the S1 holder, although it is up to the Spanish to decide who can and cannot be dependants. A list of dependants under Spanish law can be found here. Please note there is a separate S1 form issued by HMRC for British citizenship – this form is not the correct form to register for healthcare;

Give them a ring, I have always found them to be very helpful and then you get your answer from the horse's mouth. I hope all goes well for you.
