Are the beach bars now open. On my last visit they were not and as a result neither were the toilets.

Sadly no and apparently won’t be due to councils lack of planning we are left without while many people have lost there jobs, they have no consideration at all for us and the holiday makers that come here year after year

In Orihuela It’s fairly common for the beach bars not to be awarded contracts until this late in the season.

The last licence expired 2021and a temporary extension was granted for last summer.

In 2018 the beach bars didn’t open for August , so it’s obviously not top or even in the priority list for the ayuntamiento. Presumably (she says tongue in cheek)  the council don’t require the revenue from the beach traders.

So the answer is no ☹️ I have been in the Costa Blanca for 20 years, with a house and never known this situation so bad apart from the obvious covid times. Shame on the council .

We were over from 7th to 21st July and I say with 100% certainty that La Zenia's  toilets are well and truly closed!

That was then - this is now and the toilets are open !
At least it’s a start - trouble is there’s only 6 weeks left of the holiday season.
