Anyone suggest an insurance company for a holiday home other than Mapfre?
I am with them already and have tried contacting them on the 24 hour helpline but they have been constantly engaged for 5 days!!!!

I agree with Ada (which isn't always the case!).
We've got all our insurance policies with Liberty, and our agent (English) is:
Caroline Goose
Expat Services Spain
Get a quote off her to compare with any other companies you approach.I've no personal experience of Linea Directa, but I've read a lot of adverse comments about over the years.

Contact Caren at Iberian Insurance Services in Rioja Centre, Villamartin, 966765619, I found her very helpful and English speaking.
They use Liberty Seguros.
