Help and advice needed please!  I have a massive blockage in the bathroom.  All the water from toilet, bidet and basin comes up in the shower.

Would the insurance send someone round?  I am with Mapfre.

Hello. Well you know its not the shower outlet if the "Dirty" water is filling the shower tray up. Neither is it the Toilet, wash basin or Bidet. Those outlets are joined into the main outlet from the bathroom thus I would say the problem is not the Bathroom but further down the main outlet pipe. You do not state if you live in a "block" of properties, if so what floor level, or a ground floor villa. If in a "block" of properties contact the administrator they will solve the problem and know where the drain cover is to rod it etc to clear the blockage which is normally caused by flushing items that should not be put down a sink or toilet. If you have a villa, as I do not know what insurance cover you have just  telephone the company, they will tell you if you are covered or not. If not then go online and contact a company near to you that clears blocked drain pipes. We carry out all our work "in house" here. My Regards. R.

Thank you.  We have a villa with large garden.  I will ring  the insurance once I can find my policy 🥵

Hello again. Thank you for your message. Also check if your property is  connected to the mains sewerage if so that's less of a problem. If not then you will have either an outdated cesspit tank which may be the problem (coming to the end of its life) or problems with a septic tank. Either way the main outlet pipe is blocked causing the system to "backfill". A competent company that is also honest should be able to resolve your problem quite easily. My Regards, R.

Thank you.  Where do you find an honest company?

Dear Pepper, to reiterate we do all our "in House" building work at our Finca which is an ongoing reform. Maybe someone on this site has personally used a company with a similar problem to your's which they could recommend to you. If you are covered insurance wise maybe they could (Insurance Company) recommend a company to you. Hopefully it won't be a tree root problem that has crushed the main outlet pipe. If you hit a total "Brick Wall" get back to me. Sincerely, R.

Hi Pepper

A few months ago we had a blockage affecting the kitchen. We got these guys to sort it out https://www.unblockarod.com/ - they cleared the blockage in a matter of minutes. €100 seemed expensive for such a quick job, but it was well worth it.

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve

I suppose the house insurance didn’t cover it?

To be honest we didn't even think about insurance - €100 is probably less than the excess on our policy anyway.

We were just happy to get it fixed quick!
