We sold our house end February and through no fault of our own the sale has dragged on - there's only our buyers and theirs in the chain!

But this delay has put doubts in our head - we should be in Spain by now, sorting out our house (which we started renting 2 months ago!).  I know doubts creep in for most things we do in life but when they involve moving 1500 miles away seem worse!...

We still need the completion date, hopefully this week and then arrange our cat transport - been changed once, removals, also been changed once and seems like all too much to do it again!

Did anyone else get all this and the doubts and it went ok and weeks later sat on terrace/balcony and think it was worth all the tears and arguments.  This has been the best and worst thing we have ever started.

The alternative is pull out of sale or delay the completion and go elsewhere in the UK - we'd lose the rent we've paid but it's not a huge amount of money.  All we wanted was a new easy life!

Sorry for moans but just though at 3am - it can't go easy for everyone!

Hi.  My name is Sue.  Very similsr scenario.  Buying a bank repossession.  Deposit put doen April 10th still waiting to complete on my house in UK accepted an offer in Feb this year. First time buyer with money snd mortgage in place.  Ehy does it take so long?  I have transport quote nut can do no more at yhe moment.  Will not pack untill i know for certain that the sale is complete.  Uncertainty  does bring doubts I have had pleanty.   Good luck. I am sure It will come right in the end.  Regards  Sue

I put my deposit down on the 28th March, and money ready etc and still waiting 😡 so after this I really do hope it’s all worth it. And the longer  it drags on the more doubts creep in, I wish everyone luck though on there new adventure 👍

We sold our UK house in June 2017 and travelled down to Spain expecting to move straight into our new Spanish home. We finally completed at the end of November. We were able to "rent to buy" our Spanish house but still had 5 months of living with the owner's furniture, plus our own and not able to start renovations.
Stick with it.

My husband and I moved over her just over 12 months ago, and yes it’s stressful, and the nagging doubts creep in, but once we got here, and settled into the relaxed way of life, it felt amazing. Got a little homesick about six weeks in, but getting up to see the sun most days makes it so worth while. We have been back to the uk a few times, but each time we can’t wait to return. Go for it, don’t look back in a few years a wonder what life could have been. Good luck. ☀️🍻

Ahh 3am the witching hour, it’s always worse at that time. Stick with it, it will all turn it’s self around and a few months from now when you are sitting outside with that glass of vino, you can say “we done it” Good luck 😎

We bought a villa in Pedreguer 18 months ago . Originally it was supposed to be finalized in the November , then the lawyer told us there was a problem

As “ the ex wife” of seller was causing delays and it should be completed by December. We agreed to wait , then another delay happened and we seriously wondered if we should pull out and lose some deposit. We eventually got completion in February . We made a huge commitment to moving to Spain as I had a business in Dubai where we had lived for 29 years . Eight weeks now we have been living in our villa looking at mountains instead of high rise buildings, even though the sun has not exactly been shining every day we languish in the beautiful sunsets and landscapes that surround us . Life has a slower pace and certainly is a lot cheaper for us to live ( apart from fuel)

We do miss the fast pace “ designer” life now and then and the huge shopping malls but we don’t miss the 48 degree heat and humidity and the traffic jams every day. It’s a different way if life and we are glad we persevered .

Hi

Don't give up hope.We moved here 9 weeks ago.We rented with a great estate Agents called Elite Properties who were fantastic .They found us a house  here in playa Flamenca which we moved into a week and a half ago.

We have learned that patience is a virtue and it will happen. We love it here.

Good luck 😊😊

Thank you again for all your lovely messages.

Today I have had a call to say that the removal firm we had lined up for the next date cant wait for us to confirm and who can blame them, I certainly don't want anyone losing business through us (well the incompetence of others!)

Hubby is out at the minute so we will discuss later.... again... oh the joy!

Least it's sunny today in the UK and not freezing!

Happy days! :(
