Hi

I've lived in various parts of Orihuela Costa for 10 years now, and I also say that La Florida is not the best location if you want to get out and about on foot or bus.

In addition to what others have said about Punta Prima I will point out that there is a very good local bus service into Torrevieja, which is additional to the "inter city" services to Cartagena etc.

Another good option would be somewhere close to La Zenia Boulevard, where there are also lots of facilities, and it's reasonably easy to catch a bus.

You will find that the various areas are not clearly defined - eg we live in Playa Flamenca, but we are just a few minutes walk from the Boulevard, and I have no idea where the dividing line is with La Zenia! So if you've identified any properties of interest, try to get at least the name of the road and then look on Google maps!

btw, just to be nosy - why are you leaving Mazarron?

Cheers

Steve

Once you reach Torrevieja, you should take a look at LA MATA. Although you aren’t seeking to live by the coast, La Mata is a beautiful Spanish village on the coast. There’s an excellent bus service which connects it with Torrevieja. We tend to pop over there regularly when visiting and it’s an idyllic place. Lots of different shops, a bank, superb chemist, tobacconist, restaurants galore, a bread shop which is always queued out, a stunning plaza with a church and restaurants surrounding it. People relaxing in the sun while they sip a coffee or a glass of vino. Make it your business to check it out. You won’t be disappointed .

I live in lomas de cabo roig/ montezenia and I don't drive.Everywhere worth going to is about 1 mile away in any given direction.the beach 1 1/2 miles. I bought electric bikes and they are excellent. There is also a bus run by costa azul that takes you round to a circular around la zenia boulevard.I love my location. The worldfoods store is on my door step as are numerous bars and restaurants. I get my fo9d delivered by mercadona.greqt service.
