Unfortunately unlike the UK you aren't allowed to drive your car to the ITV centre if it has expired.

A number of garages around here will check your car and take it for ITV, maybe there is somewhere local to you that will do the same thing when you are able to get here.

Get the local garage to check it over and take it for you. You will probably need a new battery if you haven’t touched it for months, invest in a trickle charger. Your battery will last for years with one.

If you take it (if it starts) to TJ Motors (in industrial section round corner from ITV on main road to Campoverde), Tel 0034 966116954 he will check it over for you and take it for ITV himself, so it will pass.

Dianaspain. I am in a similar position. Can you explain how I can get the car to a local garage without breaking the law on driving it on the road without an ITV?

You could call TJ (he's English) and he might collect, but like you ,my ITV expires on Sunday 14th, and I am taking it to TJ on 15th, he will get it sorted on morning of 16th. I don't think there's a problem as long as you have an appointment. After all, lots of them must expire on a Sunday or a bank holiday. But make an appointment, either with TJ or directly with the ITV garage.

You aren't allowed to drive the car once the ITV has expired, you're expected to take it before the expiration date. You can take it up to 4 weeks before the due date and it will preserve the original expiration date, effectively giving you 12 months & 4 weeks ITV.
