Which link are you using to book your appointment?

If it's taking so long I would be tempted to use a gestor. These people helped us https://www.getlegalinspain.com/

Definitely go to a gesture, I understand that they get block bookings.

Gestors should not get block bookings as NIE numbers are required to make one. I think they get advance notice of appointments being made.

And it's not just recently. The problem of getting an appointment has been ongoing for some time. When the TIE was introduced, they set up extra offices and personnel to deal with them and they were done very quickly and efficiently. Now they are back to normal and the same offices have to deal with many different visas, forms, TIE, NIE and DNI applications and renewals.

The only way, if you want to do it yourself, is to keep trying at different times of the day. You sometimes get half a dozen appointments being made available but disappear very quickly.

I think a much better way for those coming over with an NLV would be if the consulate could make an appointment for the residency application at the same time but that isn't going to happen.

They should do everything necessary including form filling and translation. We had all ours done through our solicitor, they picked us up at home and took us to the correct office. A Gestor should be cheaper.
