Hi just after a little clarification.Today I collected my EU family member card which has an issue date of 12/01/2023 and an expiry date of 32/08/2027.

So am I right in thinking I can drive on my UK licence until 12/07/2023.?

My wife who is Irish but has UK driving licence was granted residency on 31/08/2022 so is she now unable to drive as six months  would be February 2023.?

Please note we didn’t arrive until July 2022 so an exchange wasn’t possible but we have taken the practical tests and had medicals so hoping the situation will be resolved soon and we can exchange

Thanks

Yes you are correct. As a new resident you are limited to 6 months to drive on your UK licence.

For anything to do with driving in Spain have a look at the N332 website which is for English speaking people.   It is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code on it.
