Hi ! I am thinking of trying an idea , which will give me some type of way of earning a small ( but needed ) amount of money . I , since moving here , have taken up Hillwalking , and absolutely love it . I am NOT a qualified guide ,I am making that clear from the Start

I live in Petrer , where there are many excellent opportunities for a really good trek across “El CID “( Charlton Heston movie ) and much much more  , which  vary in times and difficulties. I can easily tailor it for you as individuals

But the routes I choose are well known to me ,and pretty spectacular views ,and Vary from easy to medium to challenging but not mountaineering .

Now , my idea is , for a small fee , I can provide bocadillos , agua,   snacks , and of course , my local knowledge of the area and the various terrains .Also for up to 4 people , Transport to and from the desired areas , should that be needed .

Please note , the small fees that I propose , will not make me a millionaire ,but it will give me a source of enjoyment ,and company on my travels around the local beauty spots , and you will be guaranteed a nice day out

This idea , is in its infancy , and would like. To hear from interested people , so that I could gauge whether it would work or not . Suggestions and comments welcome

look forward to hearing from you . There is also a possibility of overnight accommodation ,should you wish for a longer trek

please respond on here , and we can private message ,and exchange phone numbers ,for a more detailed discussion

In addition , I am waiting for a “Drone to arrive ,and when I have mastered how to work it , I will have photography , which you will never be able to duplicate and am hoping for some spectacular footage from the drone ...this is subject to me being able to operate it tho 😀

Thank you in advance

Allan

Hi, I am not going to "shoot" you down, but after nearly 20 years walking with my dogs & friends, I have come across quite a few locals & tourists that have mingled with the odd & (at least) 20 (local) groups enjoying El Cid, Cabreras, Camara & Pena Rubia. Most enjoy the freedom of open free country or with groups. Some take a bocadillos & snacks, & on the way down from El Cid, the mountain water-well deserved after a 5 or 6 walk hour walk(s). I agree, it is beautiful, well marked ( even in inclement weather). I really hope you continue to enjoy these & other tracks & mountains.Whether or not it´s feasible as a going concern, I have doubts.

But good luck!

Like Villas I am not going to "shoot" you down but even organising small groups as you suggest you would, given the claim culture in the world today, probably need Public Liability Insurance should an accident happen. Others will also, probably, state you would need to be registered as Autonomo ( self employed ) and registered with INSS and Agencia Tributaria. You idea sounds good but the reality is more complicated. Good Luck.

Careful with the drone , rules regarding where you can fly , what qualifications you have attained are strictly enforced and the fines are high, suggest you look up the regs .

The requirements for flying drones can be found at drones.enaire also icarusrpa

Enaire is the pilots map to identify where you can fly a drone. At the moment the area around Petrer is off-limits to drones. Theres a paragliding thing going on. Petrer is also close to Alicante airport CTR you need permission from AESA to enter this area. Anywhere theres a coloured square on that map is off-limits to recreational drones Only registered operators can apply for permission from AESA for permission to fly in those areas.

Commercial use of drones in Spain is restricted to AESA Operador Autorizado. I’m an authorised operator. It takes a lot of paperwork and effort to become an operator.

A drone pilots license will cost about 1.000€ + your time. That included the PLPL medical. If you have any heart problems or diabetes you will not pass the medical. The pilot exams are only available in Spanish language.

After the pilot license you petition AESA for registration as an operator.

Get you drone learn to fly it. Learn where you are permitted to fly it. Don’t forget any business/commercial use of a drone requires AESA approval.
