I just plug mine into my TV, no plug needed.

Fire sticks work off 240 volt mains, I have never heard of a tv being able to power one. You need to plug the firestick hdmi connection into the tv and the power lead into a mains socket.

Just adding to some of the very helpful posts here. I have a 4K model which I take around the world. Currently in Denia and it works fine. You can’t get UK tv channels unless you download an app onto the firestick. There are lots of good apps, the one I use costs £6 a month and I can view hundreds of UK tv channels, hundreds of other tv channels from other countries, all the sports including premier league soccer live and thousands of movies and series.

Can be powered from a usb port. Firestick uses a power adapter from the mains. Needs 5 volts DC

You can download an app called Tvmucho onto your Firestick and then you won't need a VPN.

Tvmucho provides almost all UK freeview channels plus catchup. I've been using Tvmucho for several years.

This app closed down October 23
