Post Brexit, can anyone tell me please how often we have to renew our Padron. Is it still 5 years?

Thank you

Hi Bill,

It depends.  If you have permanent residency, i.e. you've lived legally in Spain for a minimum of 5 years, then your Padron needs to be renewed every 5 years.  However, as a Third Country National and if you've had residence in Spain for less than 5 years, you now have to renew your Padron every 2 years.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim

Thanks for your reply

We are permanent residents, with all the right paperwork

We got our padron in 2019, so do wait  until 5 years from then please?

Hi Bill,

When did you get residency in Spain?  At the same time as your Padron in 2019?

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Bill,

As I said previously, if you'd achieved "residencia permanente", i.e. been legally resident in Spain for 5 years, you would need to renew your Padron in 2024 (at 5 years).  However, as you've only been resident for less than 2 years and assuming you're a UK citizen, i.e. non-EU, you need to renew it this year (at 2 years).

Kind regards,

Kim

I have not registered my padron yet in Spain even though I moved here end August 2020. This is because I have been moving around but now I am ready to register. Which documents EXACTLY do I need poat brexit for pilar de la horadad padron? Thank you

Hi Donna,

If someone from Pilar can't advise, probably best to call the town hall - details attached.

Kind regards,

Kim
