Hi has anybody had this problem!!

We brought our dog out to Spain 3 years ago having acquired her from a breeder when she was 3 years old!  Her microchip is still in the name of the breeder! We had no problem with bringing her out here!

I am now going back to England permanently and have to fill out a form for the pet transport company and they are saying that the name on my dogs microchip has to match my own name - which it doesn't!

The microchip number in my dogs passport matches the microchip number when my dog is scanned!

Do they just check that the two numbers match or do they also check that the microchip is in my name?

?????😳😳😳😳😳

You will find that the chip  has to match the owners details !!!

IE names address etc my advice is to contact breeder to get it sorted out ???

Hope this is of use !!!

Hi you should be able to go online and change the details to your own, breeders always register the dog in their own name but with the paperwork you can go online and make changes.  cant think off hand how I did it but if you cant manage it PM me and I will see if I can help.

Our Spanish vet was able to update the address/ tel number details of the chip online for us, though were were already the registered owner of our dog.

Hi! If your dog's microchip was registered in the UK then you can go online to https://www.petlog.org.uk

I hope you get sorted out.
