Hi
We've just done the same journey. As long as your passports are up to date with the rabies jab, that's all you need.
The lady at the Tunnel was quite thorough checking through her passport, but it was only the rabies jab she was checking and the micro chip.
Safe journey.

Hi they checked the micro chip against the passports and looked at when the rabies jab would expire. You will need to take your dogs into the passport area, so they can check the micro chip.
As long as you have an EU passport for your dogs and rabies is up to date, micro chip matches, there won't be any problems.

Hi can I jump into this conversation as I was about to ask the same question. I had my Spanish rescue at the vet in Scotland for her jabs yesterday. I asked him to mark up her passport and he said he wasn’t allowed to do that now as we are not in the EU and she would need a health certificate to travel costing £130. I explained that she had an EU passport and we got her in Spain. Has he got it wrong?

Hi, Unfortunately not. The rabies vaccine to keep the passport valid has to be administered in Spain. Your Vet is correct that they cannot put any information on the EU passport.
Seems silly to me, but yet another change!
We will continue with vaccines in the UK, but have the rabies in Spain.

Ummm we were told the same thing from our vet today -one of our dogs had a booster rabies jab in Uk apparently this is not recognised in eu country so we have to pay for a health certificate-vet advised us to get another rabies vaccine whilst we are in Spain
