I'm travelling to the uk at 16.30 on the 4th of October 2021, am I exempt from doing the pre departure test  since the new rules come in at 4am? Thanks

Are you returning to England? I’m only asking because I’ve heard that you’ll still need to take a test if you are flying back to Scotland, even after 4th October

You don’t need to do any tests after the 4th but do need to book a day 2 test for after you arrive in U.K when book this you get a code you need to put on your travel locator form. Hope this helps x

Hi,

the UK Gov link that I provided has links to government sites for Scotland, Wales and NI. It is only England that is dropping the pre-travel test tomorrow, travellers to the other UK countries are still required to do antigen test prior to flying.

Hi,

my apologies but re-reading the guidelines this morning the requirement for a a pre-travel test to Scotland, Wales or NI for anyone who is fully vaccinated has been dropped, so the same rules as for England.

My apologies for giving the wrong information yesterday.

You can check the rules for all countries from the link below:

Yes Wales finally came in line  today with the other four nations regarding testing, so as from today  4th October  anyone from the U.K. as long they’re fully vaccinated no longer need to take a pre departure test in Spain.

If not fully jabbed a fit to fly test is still required.

All four nations now have the choice of booking any U.K. government approved supplier for the Day 2  PCR test.

It’s just a shame that they are not agreeing on what ages children need testing when returning back to the U.K.. Four countries four rules.

Lynn
