We have been told if moving to Spain we should have a minimum of 15,000€ in our Spanish account for at least 3 months if trying to apply for resdency pre brexit.

But .....I also read this on the net

TRANSITION PERIOD

And the good news is that the transition period, which basically keeps relations between the EU and the UK as they are now will immediately kick in when the UK leaves and run until December 2020, unless it is extended.

So people who want to move to an EU country but have not made the move yet can come here on the same terms as before until the end of December 2020. And Brits who want to move from one EU country to another can also do so as they would have done if they were EU citizens until the end of 2020.

Who makes up this BS I don't know!

Although it can vary from region to region as things stand there is no requirement to demonstrate whether you have a single penny in  savings only that you have sufficient resources so as to not become a burden on the state.

For retirees at least that would typically be demonstrated by means of a statement from a Spanish bank showing 3 months worth of pension deposits ideally backed up by the latest DWP notification of your current pension award which pensioners receive from time to time.

Apocryphal reports suggest that a regular income of around €700/mth per person should be evidenced, an amount quite possibly referenced to the minimum income required to qualify for state assistance.

When we did our residencia at Orihuela we had reams of paper to show and prove our incomes but they were barely glanced at and we were in and out in 15 minutes tops!

Johnson has said the transition period will not be extended, that’s the excuse Farage used for his latest overnight reverse ferret, although who believes a single word the PM says, I don’t.

And if the UK leaves the EU without a Withdrawal Agreement, i.e. a "hard" Brexit, there will be no transition period.
