Hi, my name is Roz and I'm moving to Pinoso form the UK in a few weeks and was wondering if a postman/woman will deliver the post to my house or do I need to collect it from the post office.

Many thanks Roz

Generally, if your property is in an Urbanisation there will be a central block of postboxes for which you should have a key for your box. If your property is in a street by itself you should have a post box to which you will get deliveries. Larger items will be taken back to the Post Office and as in the U.K. you will be left a card to let you know and you will have seven days to collect it. Also, if you know that post has been sent to you and it has not arrived you should check at the Post Office as undelivered items are held for fifteen days before being sent to Madrid to then be returned to sender or destroyed, for this take your Passport to prove identity.

One further point, when we had a Passport renewal being sent back from the U.K. it was received on a "signed for basis", delivered by DHL and we even got a text message to let us know when it was going to be delivered.

That's brilliant! we don't get that service in the UK.

When I was looking at properties Almeria you had to rent a box at the local post office and collect it.

Thanks again for the information.

We ordered an item from UK on a Friday, it was sent to us via Royal Mail and Correos delivered it to our door on the following Wednesday, that's what I call service.

In the time we have been here we have ordered goods from various UK websites and had no problem with the goods being delivered. Some websites charge more than others for p & p so it's wise to shop around and check out local shops here in Spain first you may find what you want and save yourself the postage and having to stay in for the delivery. We have found that over time we are ordering less and less from UK and going to local shops first.

Alternatively if you have friends who visit here regularly you could always ask if they will bring the item/s 🎁 for you ( within reason).

Had a property for almost 3 years.  Never received a single letter in that time. Even tested sending myself a letter from the UK never received that either.

They usually try to deliver. They may sound their car horn upon arrival or ring the bell on the front gate
