Hi

We are ever hopeful of a move to Spain in 2021 and to that end have been looking for somewhere to settle. Pinoso seems to fit what we are looking for.

We have may things to find out but an initial question is relating to English speaking.

Our desire and aim is to learn Spanish as quick as possible however we realise this will take time so are wondering what rough percentage of the residents are bi-lingual (Spanish & English) in Pinosa? Also what range of nationalities are living there?

Would also like to ask if there are any U3A Groups in or near Pinosa please.

Thank you in anticipation for you help

Susan & Peter

Hello Susan &Peter

I do hope your plans workout for coming to Spain / Pinoso We have lived in Spain for 13 years and lived in Pinoso for 3 1\2 years  there are a number of British nationals who come into town.

As for the the Spanish residents not to many speak English some bars and shops may have a member of staff who speak English, however  all are extremely helpful. We lived in a small village prior to Pinoso where all our neighbours were Spanish had we not spoken Spanish we would not have spoken to anyone. We still see and communicate with our friends and neighbours from that village. Our neighbours here in Pinoso are  all Spanish also. Living in close proximity with Spanish  people is by far the best way to learn the art  of conversation, lessons here tend to be mainly about grammar which of course we need, but conversation is more important. To enable you to integrate and embrace the culture.
good luck

Kind regards
Helen

Hi Susan and Peter.  I have only just read your message, Although not a fluent Spanish speaker, I have been teaching basic Spanish to my friends and work colleagues, mostly via Zoom, due to restrictions on meeting. I have been studying Spanish for years and feel I could help you.  I do not charge, as not a qualified teacher, but my long term aim is to visit Spain and teach the ex Pats. therefore the more practice I get the better. I live in Wales (UK) and do this from my home in spare time.

If you wish to know more please feel free to message me,. It is all legit and hope i can help.

best of luck with your proposed move.

Jamie Harris

I used to attend Spanish lessons in Pinoso with Profesora Cruz at the college, we went back to the UK after the pandemic, we're back now and hoping to continue with our lessons does anyone know if they're still running?
